Parenting is hard work. Sometimes it feels like it's all too much to handle. When the kids are barfing, got the flu, during terrible two's, teething, diarrhea, problems at school, or are just being naughty it may feel like the world is falling apart. During those times I like to think of Dick Hoyt and his son Rick.
They call themselves Team Hoyt. I've written about them before, the whole family is quite possibly the greatest parenting inspiration on earth. If you haven't heard of them, pull of a chair and click on the image to watch a video from 60 minutes. If you know who they are, watch and read about them again. I think the world would be a better place if this were a required viewing for all parents…incredible!
I’ve seen that video… It’s truly inspiring. My cousin had cerebral palsy and I felt a strong connection to them. I wish she was still around.
I agree with you adventuredad that parenting is hard work, but I want to add that this hard work gives pleasure and memories which are endless. I still can’t forget my child’s first smile. I still remm. first time she fell and cried .
