The Joy Of Sex Toys, Children, And Ikea
Is it possible to create a great advertisement by combining Ikea, a sex toy, and a smiling baby? Sounds impossible but I think Ikea has succeeded. Scroll to the bottom for the clip. I love good commercials with children, a funny or smiling baby usually make it special. I'm not a big fan of my Swedish friends at Ikea but I do like many of their advertisements and business ideas. How about this sign that was seen lately at Ikea:
Ikea Umbrellas:
Sunny Day $10
Rainy Day $3
Look at it again and notice that it's the complete opposite of how stores price their umbrellas. It's part marketing ploy and part customer service. They want you to pay less for the umbrella when you really need it and most people probably walk out of the store with a smile after having bought the umbrella.
The short advertisement is safe for work but if you're offended by Janet's boobs, throw breastfeeding mothers of aircrafts, or freaked out about the boob on the cover of Baby Talk magazine, you might also be offended by this clip. Personally I think it's witty, hilarious, and a great advertisement. But then again, I'm a Swedish pervert who might be considered too subjective regarding Kamprad's Ikea.;-))

That is awesome. I don’t think they’re showing it over here in the States - it would cause an uproar. We do approve, however, of showing severed limbs, repeated slayings via assault rifle and other gratuitous acts of violence.
Hilarious!
Check out the hot new items to hit the shelves this Christmas that I’ve found to be great gifts for the my kids or even a freind. Photokinz is a plush animal that has a digital photo frame in its belly, and i-Sing is a portable handheld Mp3 karaoke player and I just know my 11 and 9 yr old daughters are going to love them. If anyone wants to find any information on these new items you can go to http://www.itsoutrageous.com! It’s a Great Buy!
Superb marketing by the Ikea team on this advert. I actually remember seeing this on TV quite a while ago.

[…] Posted on Tuesday 12 December 2006 "It's a little premature, but Happy Christmas" I'm usually like The Grinch during this time of the year, I hate Christmas. But I saw this Christmas card and loved it. It comes from the premature baby unit at Edith Cavell Hospital and is sent out to other departments and previous patients. I think it's a creative and original card which adds a touch of humor to the birth of Jesus. Sandra is the one with an MBA in marketing but I also enjoy funny and creative ads, especially involving kids. A few weeks ago I posted a clip of an Ikea ad involving a child and a sex toy. That may not sound funny but they managed to create something very original and hilarious. […]

[…] I enjoy the occasional ad if it's clever and humorous. And especially if it involves children or parenthood. A while back I posted the hilarious Ikea ad/clip involving a kid with a sex toy. And in December I posted a photo of my favorite Christmas card. Above you see the latest condom ad by Durex. I love it. Simple, discrete, and witty. It still doesn't make me go out and buy condoms. I never liked them much, it's like showering with your clothes on. But the ad is damn good. […]
