The Human Cost Of War

Nothing like a war related post to cheer yourself up for the weekend……..  It's not about politics, it's about a long term blogger,  Andrew Olmsted, who was killed in action this week in Iraq.

The amazing thing is that he prepared a blog post in the event of his death.  Go to his site and read it or go to Obsidian Wings to read his post with some more background.  It's a reminder of the many lives  that are touched because of war.  Not only in Iraq but all over the world. Regardless of views on Iraq and other wars, the enormous human toll is often forgotten.

Next time you're about to go nuts because of a sleepless night with the kids, some minor illness, or just want to slap your children because the mess they made, take a deep breath and look at the big picture.  It could be  a lot worse.

  1. Olmsted. Not “Olmstead.”
