Update - Strong Earthquake Confirmed

It looks like our earthquake was 6.2 on the Richter scale with an epicenter 40 miles northwest of Acapulco.  It's being mentioned as "strong" in the news and having lasted around a minute.  I'm still on the balcony, thank God for Wi-Fi, looking for signs of a possible tsunami wave or more aftershocks.
It's right now 2.30 am local time and the children are sleeping.  Things are returning to normal.  Everything is ready for a speedy departure should something dramatic happen.

  1. Hey man, I hope nothing more serious happens.

I’ve never experienced an actual earthquake, other than a few tremors from neighbouring Indonesia (I felt the post-tsunami tremor a couple of days after) which caused just slight swaying of our apartment building. Even then I was slightly freaked.

    Take care, ya?

  2. I haven’t commented lately, but I’ve been following the stories of your trip. Glad to hear all is well so far after the quake.

  3. I hope and pray nothing happens. Though we live by coastal area and the tsunami affected our part terribly in 2004, thank god our family was not around by then. But I remember having nightmares about the safety of our kids long after things calmed down.
