More weird sleeping habits

sthlm-danielsleeping.jpgDaniel is doing great.  His sleeping has been phenomenal for at least six months.  But what’s going on with his weird sleeping habits?  I’ve told you before that he’s a spinner.  That has slowed somewhat but he’s still doing laps every single night. Even when he ends up in our bed.  Fortunately(?) it always seems like Hot Wife is the one that is kicked in the head repeatedly.  Or maybe I’m too tired to even notice?

I went into offspring’s room last night to check on him and thought he was getting up right in front of me. First he was standing on his head in the corner of his crib.  Sleeping.  It looked awfully uncomfortable but I’m not waking my son unless there is a fire in the house.  Seemed like he tried to stand on his head but fell asleep trying.  He  then  retreated to one of his favorite positions.  The one with his ass sticking up.  He seems to love this position. But his knees are almost touching his chest. Can this really be comfortable? Don’t get my wrong, we are ecstatic about his great sleeping habits but I wonder where he picked up these weird positions?  Does this look like a normal sleeping position for a 19 month old toddler ?

Edit:  Seems like this is not an abnormal position at all and that I’m an idiot.  Sleeping on your head is not normal but the ass-position above is apparently fairly common.  Still looks very uncomfortable to me.

  1. It looks normal to me. That is how my son sleeps.

  2. This is the “child’s pose” in yoga — called such because all children at one point or another sleep that way. Why? I haven’t a clue. It looks quite uncomfortable to me!

  3. Yep…that’s how the Peanut sleeps too. We call it “Downward Dog”

  4. Dude, you’re NOT an idiot! You’re still a new parent!

  5. Does the child snore? The reason I ask is I snore and always wake up in awkward positions.

  6. I found these articles to be extremely useful! I thank you so much for such a forum for research.
    Thanks Again!
