First snow in Sweden

sthlm-danielfirstsnow4.jpgSorry for not posting for a while.  And thanks to those who wondered if I was till alive.   Everything is fine here in Sweden.  Foxy Wife and Daniel are doing great.  But I  think I’m definitely going through some kind of temporary depression because I’m getting very aggravated over having to deal with complete fucking idiots every day.   They go to a doctor and tell him/her that they are burned out.  That means at least a few months off from work, of course with good pay, or possibly even longer.  But I have never been a supporter of that and consider people that do this weak, pathetic, and often complete idiots.  Not an option for me.  Enough on that.

Winter is definitely here in Sweden.  After a very mild and nice fall the colder weather is here and we got some snow yesterday.  Not a lot but at least something.  A winter in Stockholm without snow would be fine with me but I think Daniel will really appreciate snow this season.  Last season he enjoyed it but was to small to move around a lot or play by himself.  We pulled him around in a "pulka", a plastic sled with some extra back support, for hours and he loved it.  We are fortunate to be a couple of miles from city center but also a two minute walk from some real forest a nice lakes.  Nice lakes means frozen lakes in the winter and it’s a nice feeling to walk or run on a frozen lake when the sun is shining and with temperatures around zero (Centigrade).

sthlm-danielfirstsnow3.jpgSo far the lakes are far from frozen but Daniel was amazed yesterday with the new snow.  It seemed like he didn’t remember it from before and kept touching it to see what it really was.  The little snow we got will for sure disappear soon but with a little luck this winter will be like last year.  A bit cold but with lots of snow.  As a little kid that’s exactly what you want.  I wrote previously about crucial stuff for a nice winter with your toddler and we have already used most of the equipment.  And I must once again give two thumbs up for the fantastic winter clothing from Reima.  It’s awesome and everyone here knows it.  We went to a large park to experience the snow and almost every single kid was wearing Reima.  The only kids that didn’t were two poor kids from France who were rolling around in jeans.  They were soaked in two minutes.  Oh well, can’t expect too much from stupid frogs.

  1. It is so cool to watch a little kid experience things like it is the first time.

  2. The pictures are beautiful, but any winter like that is just too cold for me. I’m a big baby about the cold. I need a sweater when it’s 70 degrees (farenheit) out.

  3. This is my first comment over here. I like this blog a lot. You just got one more loyal reader!
