Female Genes - My 11 Month Old And Credit cards

Women seem to be born with some mysterious shopping gene.  They love to browse stores for hours, sometimes even without buying anything.  And a woman can draw that credit card with incredible speed.  My daughter is apparently already there, her favorite toy  is my wallet.  Sometimes it's the only thing that makes her smile as you can see in the short clip.  I can't describe to you how much fun it is trying to leave the house in a hurry and realize the credit cards are spread out all over the house.
My daughters skill with the credit cards clearly come from her mother.  She's known for outlasting anyone when it comes to shopping.  She can browse the stores for a full day and not break a sweat.  God knows she has had lots of training.  We lived in NYC for six years and that's a Mecca for female (and males) shoppers.   My wife still hasn't shocked me and come home with one of those $8000 dresses but she once came out of a NYC store with five (5!) Donna Karan dresses.
I don't know who will shorten my life the most, my wife or my daughter.

  1. Off subject, but did you see this article on how the Russians are encouraging people to breed?! Scary.

  2. Funny you should blog about this. Just in the past week or so, Josefin has been playing with some of the older kids in our community front garden. They have been “playing shopping” and have commandeered our play cash register from the house. It comes with a little fake credit card that has beveled edges to make a swiping sound against the plastic. Josefin looked in the cash drawer (which was empty), looked up at me and Henric and said with hand on hip, “I need my credit card.” Followed by, “It’s in my purse, mom.”

To hear my two year old utter those words was a dark glimpse into her teenage years. :)
